I am currently a Web Development student at San Diego Mesa College with a rich background in software engineering and technology. My journey in tech began with earning a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, specializing in Java, in 2010. My expertise spans multiple programming languages including JavaScript (ES6), React, Ruby on Rails, Python, Java 8, and PHP 7. Prior to returning to academia, I served in the U.S. Navy for five years, which, coupled with my experience at LEARN Academy as a full-stack developer, has honed my skills in creating robust, user-friendly software solutions. My passion for technology is driven by a desire to improve efficiency and reduce frustration associated with outdated systems—often recalling times I struggled with Department of Defense websites, thinking, “I can make something better than this!” This motivation fuels my commitment to eliminating predictable and repetitive tasks through automation, thereby enhancing productivity and focus on tasks that require human insight. As I look to transition into my role as a junior developer, I am eager to join a company that values public service and fosters a collaborative team environment.
